Re: Helmet!

Helmet - seems similar to stuff from Ministry (but not really.) I mainly liked the song "Unsung." its energetic and the vocals are smooth and mellow with an interesting rock/metal fusion of guitar, bass, drumming. (simple, alternative, grungy, kick-ass!)

Re: heaviest grunge song...

Outshined is, sure, heavy. I just love Rusty Cage for its fast guitar riffs. Speaking of heavy or not heavy --the main part of the song and the chorus can vary and change so its hard to really say if the "song as a whole" is really and completely "heavy." Maybe I like moderate heavy, lol. People lik...

Re: Soaked In Bleach

Looks like a somewhat interesting preview. Sure its gonna probably be over-dramatized. That's what draws people in to it more. Even shortly after I learned that he had died, when I was a teen. I believed it at first …. but did not want to believe it … including all of my friends … and we still refus...

Re: the reason why i post music video threads

That's probably how I also connected so well to music also. I was a kid from the eighties so we had music even in our cartoons, lol.

Re: Do You Remember Grunge?

I did ok. Some tough questions in there.. but most of it was still familiar to me. I missed a couple. It was fun going down the memory lane and learning some things that I didn't know.

Re: Different Types of Grunge

NO matter how you categorize a sub category. Music artists of the grunge era did not want to fit any certain label. They wanted freedom of expression .. so their music changed over the course of time. Kurt, of Nirvana saved earlier songs for later albums because he wanted those particular songs to f...

Re: sy is really not grunge

Well, if this helps …. Sonic Youth also enjoyed performing alongside Nirvana way back when (I remember Kim Gordon singing "Negative Creep"} ...and even when the remaining members of Nirvana did a tribute to Kurt Cobain … Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth did a fantastic job once again.
