Re: the best of whatever 2015

I meant decent in terms of what else was released this year. And also they are touring our country next year so they are getting some airplay on the only rock station we got. And when a maiden song come on its like a breath of fresh air. Getting back to series, Penny Dreadfull's second season was al...

Re: the best of whatever 2015

Jessica Jones gets my vote for tv series as well. I was about to give up on the superhero genre after they cancelled Constantine and Arrow went down the tubes. But this was really good. Re: Do your looks reflect your musical taste?

NOT Docs. Docs are not considered "serious" shoes? Well there goes my formal wardrobe. Every year the wife buys me new shirts. Mainly comic related, which is nice. But I always end up with my old shirts. Got a 17 year old Placebo shirt all faded and a few cigarette burns in them. I wear it to work....

Re: South African Music Thread

Funny I took a listen to the Saron gas album not too long ago and I dig it more than anything they've done as seether, sounds a lot less generic I think After they released their first album as Seether they apologized fir the changes in the songs and recordings. The thing is with South Africa's his...

Re: South African Music Thread

Good to know there are rock bands apart from seether. This is off topic but who cares. Ready for Nelson Mandela series? I'm excited to see India loosing in their home country. Since the Rugby World Cup is not going our way might as well start focusing on that. But we lost our warmup against India A...

Re: South African Music Thread

do you like Die Antwoord? :P Good live performance. But the music is horrible. Unless you like swearing a lot. Jack Parrow to me is way better. Lot more musical and actually better lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yWeMIALolY i don't like them either, but while we're talking about South Afric...

Re: South African Music Thread

And that's fine! But see, it picks up my attention that you dig rock so much and yet find the very roots of it so unnatractive. I mean, we have blues, rock n' roll, jazz, funk and so much more only because music was the only thing our slavery-loving ancestors couldn't take away from african people....

Sorry to disappoint you, but I do prefer rock music. Mostly grunge. And the purpose of this thread was to introduce you guys to the rock scene of South Africa.

Re: South African Music Thread

I'm not into traditional african music at all. So I wont be the right person to ask for ewhat is good. All sounds the same to me. A bunch of guys in loin cloths beating bongo drums is not my cup of tea. Unless after a good rugby game if the Springboks win something then this song is bound to come ou...
