Re: Songs that ripoff Nirvana.

> The Offspring - Self Esteem (the most obvious one) > Puddle of Mudd - She Fuckin' Hates Me (and I fuckin hate this song) > Silverchair - Lie To Me (Tourettes) among many others, Silverchair is a passable band though, they wrote most of their Nirvana/Pearl Jam songs when they were 13, some of which...

Re: This band or that band?

L7. Pretty On The Inside is the only Hole album I could really get into.

Corrosion of Conformity or Kyuss?
(for clarity: Pepper Keenan-era stoner COC not Eric Eyckee-era crossover-thrash COC if that wasn't obvious)

Re: This band or that band?

Blur. Plus, Gallagher bros are cunts and never really liked their obsession with mimicking The Beatles.

The Smiths or The Cure?

No, I just see reviving this whole topic as beating the dead horse.

Re: New Album Rainier Fog out August 24th

The One You Know, Red Giant and All I Am stand out as "highlights", but all-in-all this album is a detestably mediocre let down for me, certainly my least favorite of the nu-Chains trilogy. :(

Re: New Album Rainier Fog out August 24th

I love the album name and the feeling it invokes and the artwork looks dope as well (finally lines up with a lot of their merch shirts -- and gives me a strong Echos of Miles vibe), I don't really feel much attachment to the songs though, ''The One You Know'' has grown on me, mainly for the chorus, ...

Re: Bands You Can't Stand

Since you’re of the opinion that Bush are post-grunge (I disagree in relation to the first two albums), the album Razorblade Suitcase is one that has been compared in its sound to In Utero since it’s release. The song Personal Holloway is particularly In Utero-esque. Depends on if you're referring ...

Re: Bands You Can't Stand

If you ripoffs of Nevermind within post-grunge, I'd like to know where. I'll give you that my view of what constitutes a Nevermind ripoff might differ to yours. To be perfectly honest with you, I wish more post-grunge bands would ripoff Nevermind, would make for some better music, there doesn't see...

Re: Bands You Can't Stand

But fuck Pearl Jam even though they started in Seattle like the Melvins and the members were apart of early grunge bands like Green River, Malfunkshun, and Mother Love Bone. People continuously pull that card, but hey, if Henry Rollins and Ian Mackaye decided to form a dirty blues band, that band w...
