Re: Mother Love Bone Walls

I clearly remember the ones from the Vogue (the original Vogue, not the Capitol Hill one)... I was usually pretty well under the influence of alcohol every time I was at the Re-Bar, so I don't remember that one so much, but it's cool to see that picture.

Re: facelift

I really can't imagine trying to make a living as a musician these days. There is so little room for creativity anymore and everything is so processed and managed and orderly from the business side while there is total anarchy from the fan side. I don't blame today's musicians for the creative drou...

I've recently read a couple good books on the Seattle grunge scene and I'm understanding your point better now. I believe you are probably right about MLB not lasting.

Re: Duff McKagan gets his H.S. Diploma

I've got so much respect for Duff. He went through hell and came out stronger. His book was so inspiring, he followed his dream and then after accomplishing it, he created a new dream.

Re: STP are grunge rip-offs

Plus, Alice in Chains did the same thing, glam first and then they were inspired by the other bands and changed, They were nicknamed 'Kindergarden' because of how quickly they switched to the grungy style they became famous for... I don't know if they were 'inspired' or just saw the change coming a...

Re: Best 90s / grunge supergroup

I'd forgotten about Truly! I remember hanging out with Mark back in the day. I had a friend in a metal band who introduced me to him. I think they worked together somewhere but my memories of this are foggy.

Re: How old were you when Nevermind came out?

You're a year older than my dad. My kids say I'm a year older than dirt! When we see stuff on the History channel about ancient Rome, my son asks what it was like to go to high school in a chariot  When I was a kid I asked my parents about Buddy Holly when the movie The Buddy Holly Story came...

Re: facelift

The thing with the 'Seattle Scene' is that there really weren't that many people involved. Any gig you'd got to, most of the audience were in other bands in town. That's also why when you look at the 'family tree' of grunge in Seattle, so many musicians were in multiple bands -drummer for one, guita...

Re: Would Pearl Jam exist without Andrew Wood's death?

Would Grunge Forum exist without Andrew Wood's death? Interesting point... it's very true that one detail different could change everything. Personally, I think I'd rather have Andy and Layne and Stephanie and Mia alive and less interest in grunge music. Overall, I think I'd like a Seattle music sc...

Re: Best 90s / grunge supergroup

Temple of the Dog really wasn't a band... it was the name of a record in tribute to Andy. People keep saying it was band, but it wasn't... it was marketed that way to make money, it was recorded to mourn the loss of a friend. Lords of the Wasteland were a 'supergroup' made up of Andy, Stone, Jeff an...

Re: STP are grunge rip-offs

So... I'm sure someone else has pointed this out, but every single person on this site that has a band and is calling themselves "grunge" is a "Grunge rip-off". :P Not really. A ripoff would be a band that copied a currently popular format in an effort to become famous... STP did just that. Kingdom...
