It's a mountain/semi-active volcano, and then several things here are named after it. There's a locally-famous beer here called Rainier Beer, dating back to 1878. There are neighborhoods with the name rainier as well.

They're playing the 3rd annual summer STAG party here, which is a summer festival put on by the band Stag. I think that might be all they're doing for now though. If I'm off, I'm definitely going.
