Re: How old were you when Nevermind came out?

It's very now and then for me. Now I have a copy of Nevermind on vinyl I may listen to it that way more often than the last few years.

Re: Cassette Tapes

who told you tapes are obsolete? Have you enjoyed doing this yet? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DfDvZpDXUAIRvj3.jpg I got excited when I thought I would need to do so but not this time! Man oh man when self-flipping cassette players came out, that was a blessing! That's what the cassette player/conve...

Cassette Tapes

I've been for the last few days converting some cassette tapes to digital from my grandpa's stash, as I got him a cassette tape converter so he can do this for his music. And honestly, it's been fun listening to them, especially with some of the finds and seeing how he made copies. Like right now, I...

Didn't even exist yet when Nevermind came out
I knew I responded but to be precious Nevermind came out 1 year, 6 months and 10 days before I was born XD

HOWEVER, I got it when I was 17 years old roughly, can't remember exactly.

Re: This band or that band?

Sorry, just read that, and they don't have an obsession with mimicking The Beatles. I try not to side with these types of conversations but this is from their own Wiki page: Oasis were most heavily influenced by the Beatles, an influence that was frequently labelled as an "obsession" by British med...

Re: This band or that band?

As someone who grew up with classic rock, this one's a challenge!

I enjoy both bands but I think I'll go with Led Zeppelin, despite their history of stealing works and not crediting them until years later.

Faith No More or Red Hot Chili Peppers

That's about what I expected, as I LOVED the remastering of Ultramega OK.

Re: This band or that band?

I will say The Cars as I'm most familiar with their work.

Since we're expanding to different genres...

Buddy Guy or Joe Bonamassa (speaking of blues!)

Re: This band or that band?

Oh, now it's getting interesting. I will say Bon Jovi because they were the first band I got hooked on with "It's My Life". It holds a special place in my heart. Led Zeppelin win. Brilliant band. But I say that owning multiple Led Zep records but almost never listening to GVF. http://www.youtube.com...

Re: This band or that band?

Fair enough  Now, I think I'll go with MC Hammer because he has more iconic songs and more of a pop culture icon than Vanilla Ice, who I believe is doing house flipping shows now. This one is because I'm curious about the conversation about sounding too much like a band. Led Zeppelin or Greta V...

Re: This band or that band?

Going with Kriss Kross solely because they ACTUALLY sang their songs

And if we're going there Spencer, then here's the true question:

*NSYNC or Backstreet Boys?

Re: This band or that band?

My goodness, so many ways this could go between STP & AiC  BUT if I had to choose, I would choose Alice in Chains because, between the two bands, Layne had the best/most unique voice I haven't heard since. Now, I love Scott Weiland and his work with STP, Velvet Revolver, and his solo work (yes ...
