Re: Should there be a posthumous album?

Personally I hope they release everything. Whatever the end result, there will for sure be some hidden gems, and I'd love to hear Chris again.

Re: Chris Cornell Died

Hi, it's me again. I don't want to speculate about Chris's death I just want to express some more of my feelings towards his passing. When I was a young boy all I wanted to be was a football (soccer) player because of the Brazilian Ronaldo. He was my hero and all I wanted to do was be like him, but ...

Re: Chris Cornell Died

I still can't process this. I haven't cried since I lost one of my closest friends two years ago but I'm crying again today. I just always thought he would be around, that I'd have the chance to see him live again, to hear the wonderful music he'd make over the next decades. Part of me almost hopes ...

Re: Chris Cornell Died

Such a horrible, empty feeling now. I just loaded up my usual news website, started scrolling down and stopped when I saw the name Cornell. At first I assumed it was a new album or interview then I saw the word "Died" in the title. I just want to go home, open a beer and cry myself through Down on t...

Re: Albums you have bought lately

Yeah it's a thousand times better than scream. There are actually some moments on there which I imagine are what he wanted Scream to be, accessible pop music but not to the extent that it becomes cringe inducing. I think it's a better album than Carry On too. Not great but a decent listen, something...

Re: I Despise Today's Music, But Hate Being Such An Elitist

It's definitely possible to feel nostalgia for music that was created before you were born because the music is often linked in your mind to a period of time, either the first time you heard it or a prolonged period where you listened to it incessantly. For me, that can be strong feelings of nostalg...

Re: Sonic Highways

Yeah, I see what you mean. Hell, I saw a comment that said, "Once you hear one Foo Fighters' song, you've heard them all," and in all honestly they were not wrong. Just curious though, how would you define the Chicago sound? Something From Nothing was lackluster to say the list, but I think the son...

Re: Sonic Highways

Don't get me wrong, I like them on some level because they were a part of my teenage years. But the end result was really underwhelming, compared to how they were gushing about how profound an effect the city of Chicago had on them, it ultimately just felt like a lot of bluster when the song was ult...

Re: Sonic Highways

I watched the first episode of the tv show about the recording of the album and thought it was really good. The idea behind the show is good and the premise of recording a song in different cities is also inventive. However, the Foo Fighters are just a bit bland. It's a shame really, because Grohl s...

Re: Overfloater

Haha, should have seen that one coming, Oz! Burden in my Hand was thee song that really got me into Soundgarden and that made me buy my first SG album (you might guess which one that was...). Ultimately it's probably Zero Chance though which might possibly be the most beautiful song ever recorded, ...

Re: Salad Days

I think I prefer it because it's more consistent than 2. As you say, that probably has something to do with him maturing. I wonder what direction he'll go in next. He definitely has his own sound, the whole jangly guitar that sounds a bit like 70s elevator music. My only concern is that if he sticks...

Re: Salad Days

Bump.

Been listening to this pretty much non-stop the last month or so. Sunny day + Mac Demarco = perfection.

What do you think Eve, better than his last album? I think so. Goodbye Weekend, Salad Days, Treat Her Better, Passing Out Pieces. So good.
