I got to know Nirvana through a friend in 1990. He had bought Bleach in a tiny record shop in Glasgow, Scotland as a mistake really  The dude thought they were a lot heavier than they were, apperently he looked at the front cover, saw some guy headbanging and thought "Hey this must be like Slay...

AIC really do present the best of both worlds in my opinion. They are classified as grunge but sound more like a metal band. I think people often catagorize bands as "grunge" simply for the sake of simplification...it would be more accurate to just call it "90's Rock" or whatever, because in reality...

My/our life and grunge

Since I finally found a gathering of people interested in discussing grunge, I'd like to explain my viewpoint of it a little. First of all, excuse the dramatic title of this thread  But it kinda explains how I view what we now call "Grunge" music. Due to my age, I was in my prime when grunge hi...

as clichéd as it sounds, I really do like the older PJ stuff alot more than their recent CD's. It's common for people to write off new material by bands that have been going for long (look at bands like Metallica) but in this case I'd have to agree...nothing compares to the first 3 PJ records in my...

In My opinion, the last AWESOME STP album was Purple, but the others sure had their moments. Tiny... was a decent but I didnt like No 4 at all (apart from Sour Girl obviously).

Jeremy is probably my favourite "official" video, but Nothingman (version from the Touring Band DVD) and Alive (from SNL '92) are my favourite videos by PJ.

I still havent seen it, but reading this thread reminded me of the old SNL "Alive" video that was aired in 1992 I think, probably the best version of this song ever. I'm so happy to finally have it in good quality 8)
